Staco Electric partnered with A.L. Huber Construction on the adaptive reuse of the historic Crispus Attucks School, transforming the former educational facility into the future Zhou B Art Center, a new art and design hub for the Kansas City community.
As part of the early phases of renovation, Staco Electric provided electrical design support and temporary power and lighting to facilitate asbestos abatement and preparatory work within the existing structure. This work ensured safe, code-compliant conditions for remediation activities while protecting the integrity of the historic building.
Once complete, the Zhou B Art Center will feature gallery spaces, studios for up to 50 individual artists, restored auditorium and event spaces, and a modern digital ticketed experience. This project represents a significant investment in preserving local history while creating a vibrant, long-term resource for the arts community.
